Greater Sacramento’s 700+ public schools feature award-winning programs, including IB and AP programs, and specialized workforce development tracks. Placer County boasts 24 schools with a 10/10 California School Rating score while El Dorado County is pioneering new programming in robotics, information technology, manufacturing, hospitality, transportation and sports medicine thanks to a $4.4 million grant. In 2019, U.S. News ranked West Campus High School in Sacramento the #32 school in the state with a 100% graduation rate and 85% AP participation rate.

Greater Sacramento is home to over 130 private schools that feature specialty tracks for STEM, law and more. Country Day School was ranked the #18 best private K-12 school in the state and has a 100% acceptance rate to four-year colleges and universities. Jesuit High School has an advanced robotics program, which took first place in the International Mate Rove Competition three times. The region is also home to the #11 best charter school in the state, Da Vinci Charter Academy, which focuses on preparing students for the information-based and technologically advanced society of the future.
